The Waterville Valley is surrounded by the southernmost 4,000' peaks of the White Mountains. Long before skiing came to Waterville, it was known as a premier hiking destination. It's network of hiking trails, dating back to the mid 1800's has been called the "oldest hiking trail system in the Northeast".
